Your e-mails are moving. Completely and traceably.
Transfer a complete IMAP mailbox to a new server — with all folders, subfolders, attachments and read status. No software to install, directly in your browser.
- Encrypted transfer
- Credentials are deleted automatically
- Re-syncable at any time
Moved in five steps
The wizard only asks for what is really necessary — and checks each step before moving on.
Source mailbox
E-mail address and password for your old provider. For popular providers, we set the server and port automatically.
Target mailbox
The new mailbox must already exist. MailTransfer does not create e-mail addresses.
Scope
Exclude trash and spam, transfer only the last few months, skip very large messages.
Check
We count folders, messages and data volume in advance — you see what to expect before anything happens.
Transfer
Progress runs live. At the end you get a report you can print or save.
Copying, not moving — that is the important difference
MailTransfer reads your old mailbox and writes a copy to the new one. Nothing is deleted or changed on the old server. Only once you have checked yourself that everything has arrived should you cancel your old hosting.
Nothing is lost
The source stays untouched. If something goes wrong, your original is still there.
Repeatable
After switching your MX records, mail often keeps arriving in the old mailbox for a while. A re-sync picks up exactly those messages — without duplicates.
Traceable
Folder and message counts from both sides appear side by side in the completion report.

What happens to your credentials
You are trusting us with mailbox access. So here is what happens technically — not just a claim that it is “secure”.
Stored encrypted
Passwords are stored only in encrypted form. The key is kept separate from the database; a database copy alone reveals nothing.
Deleted automatically
Credentials and logs are removed at the latest 72 hours after completion. You can trigger deletion yourself immediately, at any time.
Not logged
Passwords appear neither in the log nor in the server’s process list — not even our own administration can see them.
Content is not retained
E-mails pass through the server but are not stored permanently. What remains are the figures for the report.
Frequently asked questions
No. MailTransfer only copies. Nothing on the source server is deleted, moved or marked as read.
That depends heavily on both servers: many small messages take longer than a few large ones, and some providers throttle IMAP access. We deliberately avoid giving a time in minutes and show real progress instead.
The transfer can be resumed. Messages already copied are recognised and not transferred again.
Yes, with an app password. Your normal account password will not work once two-factor sign-in is enabled. With Microsoft 365, IMAP sign-in must be allowed in the tenant; that is decided by your administration.
Yes. MailTransfer does not create mailboxes, it writes into an existing one. Folders within the mailbox are created as needed.
No. You receive a transfer ID and a six-digit code, which let you check the status again at any time.
Ready to move?
The connection test is free and non-binding — you will see immediately whether both servers are reachable.
